Beauty Secret / Foods to improve our skin

Blueberry is known to improve eyesight, but what foods improve our skin?

Recently I was watching a Japanese drama and I saw an actress that looked fabulous, she had aged graciously! She is 65 years old and her beauty secret is to exercise by stretching. Her diet is simple: she doesn't drink cold water, and she eats pig's feet because it's full of collagen. Oh well, you don't have to eat pig's feet to get collagen, but let's find out what foods improve our skin. I spent some time researching and here are some common foods that a study listed:

1. Garlic and Soymilk and other soybean-based foods

Garlic is rich in sulfur which is necessary to produce collagen in your body. Garlic also contains large amounts of lopoic acid and taurine, which are essential for rebuilding damaged collagen fibers. Soymilk and other soybean-based foods contain genistein, also an element that aids in collagen production.

2. The orange hue of sweet potatoes, pumpkin, mango, and other orange vegetables are good.

They are rich in carotenoids like beta-carotene that help protect the skin from free-radical damage. Vitamin A, carotenoids wrinkle-fighting plant pigments are known to help protect skin from the sun's skin-damaging UV radiation. Vitamin A is one of very unstable, fragile as skin care ingredient, taken internally get you more benefit for the skin.

3. Avocado

This creamy, green fruit is abundant in essential oils and B-complex vitamins that nourish your skin, inside and out. Niacin (vitamin B3) is especially important for healthy skin, and avocado contain lots of it. Niacin, an anti-inflammatory, soothes irritated skin and red, blotchy skin.

4. Cottage Cheese

Dairy is good for your bones and face. But it's the selenium in cottage cheese, an essential mineral, teams up with Vitamin E as powerful free radical-fighting antioxidant duo. Selenium also rich in Brazil nuts.

5. Almonds

Almonds are great for your complexion. With 150% of your daily need for Vitamin E which is very important anti-oxidant. Sprinkle crushed almonds over cottage cheese makes it a great food for your skin.

6. Acerola Cherries, Guava and Kiwi (high in Vitamin C).

Acerola cherries it holds about 65x the amount of Vitamin C than an orange. Also Guava and Kiwi has high Vitamin C. As an anti-oxidant, Vitamin C fights skin damage and wrinkles. It also plays a central role in the production of collagen, the structural protein in your skin.

7. Oysters

Whether they're aphrodisiac or not, oysters a love feast for skin. They fight pimples because they're rich in zinc. The mineral affects sebum production, a deficiency may contribute to acne. Zinc also helps boost elastin (the skin's elastic protein) production with the help of Vitamin C.

8.Flax seed Oil or Wild Salmon, not farm raised.

It's no secret that omega 3 are great for your skin, but flaxseed oil is one the best sources of this essential fatty acid. That's great news if you are vegetarian and if you like salmon make sure it's a wild salmon not farm raised, farm raised salmon's orange color comes from pharmaceutical company.

9. Wheat Germ

It's the embryo within a grain of wheat, and it's nutritious. Wheat germ is a good source of biotin, a mild biotin deficiency can cause dermatitis, a condition characterized by itchy, scary skin.

10. Other foods I saw repeatedly are; Leafy vegetables, Green Tea, Olive oil.

11. Finally AVOID foods with SUGAR because they cause inflammation, inflammatory means damages to your cell and age faster.

Beautiful skin begins with good habits = good choice = and good foods are a must.
