Recently I was watching a Japanese drama and I saw an actress that looked fabulous, she had aged graciously! She is 65 years old and her beauty secret is to exercise by stretching. Her diet is simple: she doesn't drink cold water, and she eats pig's feet because it's full of collagen. Oh well, you don't have to eat pig's feet to get collagen, but let's find out what foods improve our skin. I spent some time researching and here are some common foods that a study listed:
1. Garlic and Soymilk and other soybean-based foods
Garlic is rich in sulfur which is necessary to produce collagen in your body. Garlic also contains large amounts of lopoic acid and taurine, which are essential for rebuilding damaged collagen fibers. Soymilk and other soybean-based foods contain genistein, also an element that aids in collagen production.
2. The orange hue of sweet potatoes, pumpkin, mango, and other orange vegetables are good.
They are rich in carotenoids like beta-carotene that help protect the skin from free-radical damage. Vitamin A, carotenoids wrinkle-fighting plant pigments are known to help protect skin from the sun's skin-damaging UV radiation.
